Stamp Out Poverty will collect the information you give us when you email us, fill in a form on the website, complete an online action, or make a donation. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679, you have rights as an individual which you can exercise in relation to the information we hold about you. You can read more about these rights here. You have the right to ask us not to collect your personal data for marketing purposes. We will always inform you (before collecting your data) if we intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. It is your right to prevent us from contacting you by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data or by contacting us at any time at office@stampoutpoverty.org. If you are aged 16 or under‚ please get your parent/guardian’s permission beforehand whenever you provide us with personal information.

Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679. We will respond to any data subject access request within 30 calendar days. If we do hold information about you we will:

  • give you a description of it;
  • tell you why we are holding it;
  • tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
  • let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form.

To make a request to Stamp Out Poverty for any personal information we may hold you need to put the request in writing to the address provided below. If you agree, we will try to deal with your request informally, for example by providing you with the specific information you need over the telephone.

If you select the box to give us permission to contact you, we may use your name and address information to contact you by telephone or email to update you about our work, or to fundraise. We may carry out analysis of the information you provide to create a profile and provide more relevant communications to you. We may share your information with service providers to aid with this work, in strict accordance with Data Protection requirements. We will never share your information with anyone else.

We will not store your information for longer than you have given us permission to, and for no longer than is relevant if no time limit was requested. You can contact us at any time to review or update your information held by us. We store the information in a database in a secured environment.

We will only send you email updates if you subscribe to receive them. We use a third-party provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our email updates. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. MailChimp is based outside the EU, any data you provide is stored on secure servers by MailChimp. MailChimp is compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework, which means they comply with data protection requirements. You can find out more about how MailChimp manages data.

Our website is a secure HTTPS website. This means that all the data you put into a form is encrypted when it is sent over the internet. When you are using our secure online donation page, your donation is processed by WorldPay, a third party payment processor who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions. WorldPay will not share the details of cardholders with any third parties for marketing purposes. Please see their privacy policy here.

This website, like many others, also uses Google Analytics to help analyse how users use the site. This analytical tool uses cookies, which are small text files placed on your computer. They collect standard information anonymously about what pages are viewed and in what order, which we can then use to analyse traffic and make the website better. We never (and cannot) track any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site. It is possible to switch off cookies by setting your browser preferences. Turning cookies off may result in a loss of functionality when using our website.

Our website may contain links to other websites run by other organisations. This privacy policy applies only to our website. Sharing information from our website to Facebook or Twitter via the share buttons will not collect personal information from you.
