{"id":4991,"date":"2023-07-17T10:19:53","date_gmt":"2023-07-17T09:19:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.stampoutpoverty.org\/?page_id=4991"},"modified":"2023-07-17T10:53:32","modified_gmt":"2023-07-17T09:53:32","slug":"fossil-fuel-treaty","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/stampoutpoverty.org\/live2019\/fossil-fuel-treaty\/","title":{"rendered":"Fossil Fuel Treaty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"intro\">Stamp Out Poverty is the UK partner of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty initiative.<\/p>\n<p>In just 2 \u00bd years, the campaign has secured the support of more than <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/nobel-letter\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">101 Nobel laureates<\/a>, more than <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/endorsements\/#organisations\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2,000 civil society organisations<\/a>, more than <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/open-letter\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3,000 scientists<\/a> and more than <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/endorsements\/#cities\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">80 major cities<\/a>, including <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/paris-endorsement\">Paris<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/sydney\">Sydney<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/kolkata\">Kolkota<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/lima\">Lima<\/a> and, thanks to our efforts, <a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/london\">London<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign has 3 major pillars:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>End all new exploration and production of oil, coal and gas<\/li>\n<li>Phase out existing production of fossil fuels to keep the world within the 1.5 degree global climate goal<\/li>\n<li>Work to achieve a JUST TRANSITION that enables countries, workers and communities to transition away from fossil fuel dependence, particularly through scaling up access to renewable energy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"wp-block-feature-link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/fossilfueltreaty.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">To find out more about the Fossil Fuel Ban Treaty campaign, join, take action, click here.<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stamp Out Poverty is the UK partner of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty initiative.
